Trimming Energy Costs at Tuscano Insurance
Electricity needs were a huge percentage of Tuscano Insurance Agency’s operating costs each year, so they came to Green Solar Systems in an effort to save money on growing electric bills.
Green Solar Systems designed and installed a complex commercial system consisting of a 19.1 kW PV ballasted array across multiple buildings. We took the project from dream to fully-realized project on time and on budget!
We helped guide Tuscano to further savings by ensuring their eligibility for the PA Sunshine Grant. Coupled with considerable energy savings, Tuscano was able to pay back 46% of the total cost of the system in the first year. Our design works so well that we were able to project a 7-12 year payback period on a system that will last at least 30 years.
Lowering Bills and Managing SRECs at Lutherlyn
As a nonprofit organization that works mostly with children, Camp Lutherlyn needed to cut operating expenses – and energy costs were one of their first considerations.
In a collaboration with Blue Roof Farms, Green Solar Systems installed a stand-alone photovoltaic system. The new PV array system was designed to supply electric energy to the camp at a cheaper price, saving them a significant amount in operating costs.
In addition, GSS manages the camp’s Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) portfolio to help them maximize the profit made by selling energy back to the grid.
